Professor Li Haitao and Shen Xiaohua from Tsinghua's School of Medicine won the "Tan Jiazhen Life Science Innovation Award". Tsinghua's Honorary Professor Robert G. Roeder won the "Tan Jiazhen Life Science International Cooperation Award". Chen Xing, Tsinghua alumnus, and now a professor at Peking University, won the "Tan Jiazhen Life Science Innovation Award". The results were announced on Sept 17.
The "Tan Jiazhen Life Science Award" is named after Tan Jiazhen (1909-2008), an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, also a remarkable Chinese geneticist. Up till now, it has been granted for 14 consecutive years to recognize scientists who have made outstanding contributions to life sciences.
