The IEEE Power & Energy Society (PES) General Meeting 2023 recently took place in Orlando, the United States, where various award recipients were announced. Assistant Professor Shen Xinwei from Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School (SIGS) was presented with the IEEE PES Technical Council Young Professionals Award. Notably, Shen is the first recipient of this award from the Asia-Pacific region.

The IEEE PES is one of the largest and most influential global organizations in the power and energy sector. With over 40,000 members across more than 150 countries and regions, the society has 17 technical committees and 4 coordinating committees. Its mission is to drive technological innovation in the power industry, to establish industry standards, and lead the sector's growth. The IEEE PES Technical Council Young Professionals Award recognizes individuals for their exceptional technical and PES leadership contributions.
