Tsinghua University Hospital has put four new integrated nucleic acid testing devices into operation, boosting its capacity to process Covid-19 test samples for results.
With the installation of these new devices, the hospital’s daily nucleic acid testing capacity has increased by 50 percent.
The advanced new devices were installed at the hospital laboratory recently. These devices are easy to operate and inspect, create less pollution, and, most importantly, shorten the processing time for Covid-19 test results by six to eight hours.
Apart from Covid-19 detection, these latest instruments can also be used for Hepatitis B DNA quantitative detection, Human papillomavirus (HPV) detection, and sexually transmitted disease-related gene detection.
More than 35,000 on-campus residents, including Tsinghua students, faculty, and staff members, take daily COVID-19 nucleic tests at Tsinghua.
