Jing Wenyong started working at Tsinghua University in 1961 after graduating from the same university. He worked at the Division of Water Supply and Drainage within the Department of Civil Engineering and the Department of Environmental Engineering (DEE) and DEE's Division of Systems Engineering successively, where his responsibilities ranged from the management of academic affairs, research affairs to CPC affairs.
